Overview
Windsurf became Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, after Cognition acquired it; plans and prices carried over. It is still a full IDE compatible with Windsurf and VS Code settings, but its default view is now an Agent Command Center: a board for running and reviewing local and cloud agents, grouped into Spaces with their PRs and files. Its local agent, Devin Local, replaced Cascade, and it can also run third-party agents such as Codex and Claude over the Agent Client Protocol. Unlimited Tab completions stay free.
Enki verdict
Still a strong rival to Cursor at the same $20, now built around managing agents; the free plan's unlimited completions remain the best on-ramp.
