Overview
Manus is an AI agent built to finish work on its own: you describe the goal, and it plans the steps, browses, writes code and hands back a finished deliverable such as a research report, a slide deck, a deployed website, a game or an edited video. Manus 2.0, released in September 2026, added the Cascade agent harness, event-triggered Automations, rentable Cloud Computers and Manus Studio, a desktop workspace with a video editor and game builder. It suits founders, marketers and analysts who want results more than a conversation, and Wide Research splits big jobs across many sub-agents at once. Manus runs on the web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. A free plan runs on 300 daily credits, and Pro starts at $17 a month billed annually or $20 monthly.
Enki verdict
The most capable agent for turning one prompt into a finished deliverable, but credit pricing makes the cost of any single task hard to know in advance.

Pros & cons
What we like
- Hands back finished work: decks, live websites, apps and video
- Wide Research runs many sub-agents in parallel
- Apps on web, desktop and mobile
Worth noting
- Credit cost per task is hard to predict, and monthly credits do not roll over
- The Meta acquisition and its reversal forced data deletion for some users in 2026

Manus FAQ
- Is Manus free?
- Yes. The free plan refreshes 300 credits every day you log in, up to 1,500 a month, and runs 1 task at a time with 2 scheduled automations. Daily credits only work in Manus 2.0 Lite mode, so heavier tasks need Pro.
- How much does Manus cost?
- Pro is $20 a month for 4,000 credits, $40 for 8,000 and $200 for 40,000, or $17, $34 and $167 a month billed yearly. Team starts at $20 a seat a month or $200 a seat a year, with 4,000 pooled credits per seat. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
- Who owns Manus?
- Manus is run by Butterfly Effect Pte. Ltd., a company incorporated in Singapore. Meta acquired Manus on December 29, 2025, and on September 1, 2026 Manus announced it had formally resumed independent operations under its founding team.
- Is Manus safe to use with my data?
- Manus says its third-party model providers are contractually barred from training on your data, and Team plans never allow model training. On individual plans, the terms let Manus use your content to develop and improve the service. You must be 18 or older to use it.
- Manus vs ChatGPT agent: what is the difference?
- Both carry out multi-step tasks on their own. Manus is built around finished deliverables such as decks, deployed websites, apps and edited video, and meters every task in credits, while ChatGPT's agent mode is one feature inside a general assistant whose paid plans start at $8 a month.
- What can Manus do?
- Manus researches topics in depth, builds and deploys websites and web apps, makes slide decks, edits short videos and builds games. Automations can start a task on a schedule or when something happens in a connected service, such as a new email or a Slack message.
