Overview
Grok is the AI assistant built by xAI, which SpaceX acquired in February 2026 and now runs as SpaceX Super Intelligence (SpaceXSI). It chats, reasons, searches the web and X in real time, makes images and short videos with Grok Imagine, and holds voice conversations, with Grok 4.7 as the current flagship model. Since October 2026 its paid plans are part of The X Subscription, which bundles Grok, the Grok Bot agent, the Cursor code editor and X Premium features on one weekly usage pool. Grok runs on the web, iOS, Android and inside X, and Grok Bot works from macOS, Windows and iOS. There is a free plan, and paid plans start at $8 a month.

The best value for people who already pay for X or Cursor, since $30 covers Grok, Grok Bot and both subscriptions, though the shared weekly pool makes heavy use hard to plan.

- Yes. The free plan includes limited chat, image generation and Grok Build use, plus a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents. Video generation and Grok Bot start with Premium at $30 a month.
- How much does Grok cost?
- Plus is $8 a month, Premium $30, Super $100 and Ultra $200, all before tax. Each tier also includes X Premium features and Cursor, and Premium, Super and Ultra get 4x, 15x and 50x the usage of Plus. Teams start at $30 per user a month.
- What happened to SuperGrok?
- On October 12, 2026, The X Subscription replaced SuperGrok for new customers. Premium at $30 a month carries the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+, which SpaceXSI says cost $90 a month combined. Existing SuperGrok subscribers can keep their plan or switch.
- Is Grok Bot free?
- No. Grok Bot is included with Premium, Super, Ultra, Teams and Enterprise, so it starts at $30 a month. It draws on your plan's weekly usage, and usage past that is billed by token cost.
- Is Grok safe and private?
- You must be 13 or older, and teens aged 13 to 17 need a parent's permission. SpaceXSI may train its models on your prompts and Grok's replies unless you turn off "Improve the model" in Settings or use Private Chat, which is deleted within 30 days. Business and enterprise content is not used for training.
- Grok vs ChatGPT: which is better?
- Both are general AI chatbots with free plans, voice, reasoning and image generation. Grok's differences are live search across X posts and paid plans that also include Cursor and X Premium. If you don't use X or Cursor, that bundle adds little.
