Head to head
Granola vs Otter.ai
Two productivity tools compared on Enki's editor score, pricing, and the trade-offs that actually matter.
Enki verdict
Granola and Otter.ai solve meeting notes in opposite ways. Granola never joins your call: it listens to your computer's audio, combines a transcript with the notes you type, and writes clean notes afterwards, but it never saves audio, so there's no playback and no uploads. Otter is transcription first: its notetaker joins Zoom, Teams and Meet (or its desktop app records without a bot), it keeps the audio for playback, and it imports recordings.
On price, Otter is cheaper if you pay yearly: Pro is $8.33 a month billed annually ($16.99 monthly), against Granola Business at $14 per user a month. Their free plans limit different things: Granola only shows 30 days of history, while Otter caps you at 300 minutes a month, 30 minutes per conversation and your 25 most recent conversations.
Choose Granola for discreet, bot-free notes you shape yourself. Choose Otter when you need a real transcript and the recording to go back to.
