Head to head
Bolt.new vs Lovable
Two coding & dev tools compared on Enki's editor score, pricing, and the trade-offs that actually matter.
Enki verdict
Lovable and Bolt.new both build full-stack apps from a chat, and both start at $25 a month. Lovable is the more complete choice for web apps: its built-in Lovable Cloud backend (based on Supabase) handles the database, auth and storage with no setup, new projects render on the server for better SEO, and code syncs both ways with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket.
Bolt.new is the more flexible one. It runs the whole stack in your browser, works across many JavaScript frameworks, and builds mobile apps through Expo, which Lovable doesn't. Its free plan is also more generous for tinkering, with 1M tokens a month against Lovable's 5 credits a day.
Both meter usage in ways that are hard to predict: Lovable charges more credits for harder tasks, and Bolt uses more tokens as your project grows.
Pick Bolt.new if
- You need a mobile app, or a framework other than React
- You want a roomier free plan to experiment with
- You'd like tokens that roll over, and reloads that never expire
Pick Lovable if
- You want a database, auth and storage built in with no setup
- SEO matters, so server-side rendering by default helps
- Your team is large: Lovable workspaces have unlimited members
